My name is EnJunaya Canton and I am the Founder, Formulator and Manufacturer of Zuhuri Beauty. I began using my background in Chemistry to formulate BioActive, Vegan, Organic and Non-Toxic Skin and Hair Care Solutions in 2007 when I found myself very overweight at 255 pounds and with a host of medical problems, including 18 large fibroids.

In researching possible causes, I learned that 9 known toxic chemicals used in cosmetics, negatively impact black women’s health more than other races. I was very upset to learn that these chemicals were creating estrogen dominance in my body and causing mental and health problems. I also learned that other women experienced these same challenges and they were drastically changed when they began a toxic free lifestyle. After a rigid diet of being a Vegan, eating clean and only using my non-toxic products, I not only lost weight, drastically improved my skin, but also shrank and eliminated the 18 large fibroids. My mental and emotional health was much better and I no longer suffered from chronic undiagnosable pain.

Zuhuri Beauty was created with several concerns in mind: 1 - There is a growing number of research correlating chemicals in personal hygiene products to black women who have disproportionately higher rates of hormone related health conditions than other women in the United States. Studies have also correlated the high rates of childhood asthma in communities of color where BPA plastic bottles are more apparent. 2- The FDA has not banned 11 beauty ingredients that many other countries have banned because they are  known to cause cancer, cause respiratory problems, cause obesity, infertility, are neurotoxins and cause adrenal and  endocrine problems and 3- The Beauty industry contributes to climate change because of  single use, non ecofriendly, packaging and improper hazardous waste disposal and continues.

Zuhuri Beauty is a Black Female Owned Green Beauty Brand that uses clean ingredients and sustainable packaging that is reusable, refillable, recyclable and compostable. We have products for women, men, teens and babies of all skin and hair types and concerns. Product lines include Zuhuri Beauty, Twenty Six by Zuhuri Beauty (LUX brand), EMK Essentials for Men and S.A.F.E. for Babies.

We aim to educate and participate in social and political activities that reduce the use and manufacturing of toxic skin and hair care products that are known to harm people and packaging that harms people and the environment. We are consistently researching ingredients and formulating products that have high efficacy and compare to big brands.
